Gabriel Mills

Gabriel Mills’s paintings hold space for contemplation about time, recognition, and presence. A versatile array of painting methods are demonstrated throughout his practice, serving as an adequate platform to explore the complexities of experience.

Mills was born in New Rochelle, NY and received an MFA in Painting and Printmaking from the Yale School of Art, New Haven, CT 2021 and a BFA in Illustration and Art History from the University of Hartford, Hartford, CT. Notable solo exhibitions include TIDSOPTIMIST, at Micki Meng, San Francisco, CA (2022) and Butterfly March, at Alexander Berggruen, New York (2022). The artist’s work is included in several public collections including, The High Museum of Art, Atlanta; The Institute of Contemporary Art, Miami; The Green Family Art Foundation, Texas; New York Historical Society, New York; and X Museum of Contemporary Art, Beijing. Mills will have his first museum solo exhibition at the Nerman Museum of Contemporary Art in 2024.
